  • China Biologic Products (CBPO) is up 10.77% to $101.90, after the company reportedly received a $3.9 billion all-cash acquisition bid from a private equity consortium of GL Capital group, Bank of China Group Investment Limited, CDH Investments. The bid values the company’s stock at $118 per share
  • ConocoPhillips (COP) announced that it will receive USD$2 billion in a settlement reached with Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA), under which PDVSA will pay $500 million upfront, with the remaining sum to be paid out over a four-year span. The dispute that led to ConocoPhillips filing suit against PDVSA stemmed from former Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez’s seizure of ConocoPhillips assets which are now being utilized by PDVSA. Shares of ConocoPhilips are up 1.21% to $70.97 today following this development
  • Constellation Brands (STZ) was downgraded to negative from a neutral rating at Susquehanna, which cited the company’s premium well above its competitors as a catalyst for the downgrade
  • PG&E Corp (PCG) shares have fallen 0.44% to $45.05, after California state lawmakers abandoned proposals to alter laws which currently leave comapnies exposed to billions of dollars in liability from events such as last years costly wildfires
