European stocks extending yesterday's losses, led by export sensitive sectors

European Markets

  • European stocks are declining this morning with export-sensitive stocks leading the drop in valuations 
  • HIS Markit’s Euro Zone Composite Final PMI increased to 54.5 in August 2018 from 54.3 in July 2018; however, investors are focused on trade tensions and possible contagion from continued Turkish economic uncertainty 
  • The drop in global oil prices is weighing on mega-cap oil stocks British Petroleum (BP) and Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) in the FTSE 100  
  • The Euro Stoxx 600 is currently down -0.63%, the FTSE 100 has declined -0.4%, the DAX has fallen -0.54%, and the CAC 40 is lower by -0.86%
