  • Apple (AAPL) could sell its iPhone 9 as low as $800 if it so desires, Goldman Sachs wrote in a research note today.  Goldman sees $849 as the most likely point given past pricing.  Apple is 0.66% higher at $224.60.  Apple is rated ‘Top Buy’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks and ‘Attractive’ in US Information Technology Global Top Picks.
  • Broadcom (AVGO) reported quarterly sales forecast above expectations sending the stock 8.3% higher at $234.01.  With semiconductor stocks under intense pressure over the last week it was relief for the sector and is sending the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index up 1.3% at 1368. Broadcom is rated ‘Unattractive’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks and ‘Top Buy’ in US Information Technology Global Top Picks.
  • Verizon (VZ) is in talks with Digital Chief Tim Armstrong about his exit from the firm.  Mr. Armstrong came to Verizon when it acquired AOL and it has been reported he has been disagreeing with management recently.   Verizon is down 0.17% at $54.20.  Verizon is rated ‘Top Buy’ in our US Large-Cap
