  • AbbVie (ABBV) is being sued by California’s insurance regulator for an illegal kickback scheme.  The regulator is alleging that the company paid healthcare providers kickbacks to get them to keep patients on its Humira arthritis drug.  AbbVie said, “the allegations are without merit”.  AbbVie closed down 2.9% at $92.59.  AbbVie is rated ‘Top Buy’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks
  • NiSource (NI) had pressure readings 12 times higher than normal in its gas lines before last week’s gas line explosion on its network, according to comments from a letter from both Massachusetts senators.  The senators sent a series of questions about the incident and requested a response by Wednesday.  NiSource closed up 0.74% at $25.92.  NiSource is rated ‘Attractive’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks
  • Viking Therapeutics (VKTX) rose 87% to close at $19.46 on news its fatty liver disease experimental therapy exceeded expectations in initial results.  The therapy was successful in cutting bad cholesterol more than a placebo.  Viking is rated ‘Top Short’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks
