  • The FDA head said today he would like to make consumer medical devices, such as Apple’s (AAPL) Watch, easier to get approved.  The Watch was approved under a lighter touch regulatory approach that the FDA intends to use with a number of other manufacturers.  Apple closed up 0.76% at $220.03.  Apple is rated “Top Buy’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks and ‘Attractive’ in our US Information Technology Global Top Picks 
  • Copart (CPRT) rose 1% to close at $56.21 after Gabelli upgraded the stock to buy from hold.  In its report the firm cited strength in the salvage auction industry as well as the potential for M&A.  There is M&A potential in both the US and Europe, the report mentions.  Copart is rated ‘Attractive’ in both the US Large-Cap and US Industrials Global Top Picks
  • Micron (MU) reported 4Q adjusted EPS of $3.53 versus consensus of $3.33; that EPS was above the highest estimate.  Adjusted sales came at $8.44bn while consensus was $8.25bn.  Micron closed up 2% at $46.   Micron is rated ‘Top Buy’ in both the US Large-Cap and US Information Technology Global Top Picks
