  • Facebook (FB) reported that 14 million of its users had intimate information stolen as part of a hack that affected 30 million of its users.  Facebook had previously reported that the hack affected 50 million users.  An additional 1 million only had their contact data was stolen.  Facebook closed 0.25% higher despite the news. Facebook is rated ‘Neutral’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks and ‘Attractive’ in our US Information Technology Global Top Picks  
  • PNC Financial Services (PNC) fell 5.5% to close at $121.41 after reporting results that beat consensus but with what a Bloomberg article called “red flags”.  The results from PNC Financial Services included higher costs that were offset by one-off effects.  The higher costs going forward are what weighed on PNC Financial Services today.  PNC Financial Services is rated ‘Attractive’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks  
  • Sears’ (SHLD) discussions with lenders are focused on keeping the stores open until at least Christmas, according to a report from Bloomberg.  Talks now envision a Sears that is smaller and able to compete long-term the article states.  Sears would use Chapter 11, not Chapter 7 as previously reported.  Sears closed 19% higher at $0.41.  Sears is rated ‘Unattractive’ in our US Large-Cap Global Top Picks and ‘Top Short’ in our US Consumer Discretionary Global Top Picks
