European Markets

  • European stocks are higher mid-session, riding the global stock rally fed by hopes for a resolution to-or at least significant progress on-the US-China trade war
  • EU industrial production for December fell 0.9%, much worse than the 0.4% fall expected and follows a 1.7% fall in November
  • The Euro Stoxx 600 is currently up +0.37%, the FTSE 100 is higher by +0.6%, the DAX has advanced +0.04%, and the CAC 40 has risen +0.21%
  • Investor sentiment for European stocks is positive with the advance/decline ratio for the Euro Stoxx 600 currently at 2.03x
  • Basic Resources (+1.41%), Chemicals (+1.08%), and Technology (+0.96%) stocks are the top performers in the Euro Stoxx 600 today
