US Markets End of Day Snapshot
US Markets ended higher today, but below the levels reported in our Midday Update. The S&P 500 (+0.35%), Russell 2000 (+0.85%), and the Nasdaq Composite (+0.77%) all gained today.
The S&P 500 was led higher today by Telecom (+1.04%), Technology (+0.70%), and Industrials (+0.66%), while Consumer Staples (-0.62%), Utilities (-0.52%), and Health Care (-0.15%) were the biggest lagging sectors.

AMC Entertainment (AMC) reported 1Q2018 EPS that was better than expected ($0.14 vs $0.09 consensus)
Brighthouse Financial (BHF) announced 1Q2018 EPS which significantly beat estimates ($1.36 vs $1.17 forecasted).
Nevro Corp (NVRO) released 1Q2018 EPS that was significantly worse than was projected (-$0.59 vs $-0.28 expected).
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission announced that it will release former Wynn Resorts (WYNN) CEO Steve Wynn from the company’s gaming licence.
Zillow (ZG) posted 1Q2018 EPS of $0.07, narrowly higher than the consensus ($0.07 vs $0.05 projected).
Cryptocurrencies are slightly higher than this morning's update but are still broadly lower for the day. Ethereum Classic (-7.64%), NEM (-5.52%), Bitcoin Cash (-5.46%), and Dash (-5.13%), are some of the biggest decliners. Icon (+3.53%) and EOS (+2.85%) were the notable gainers.
Two House sub-committees will be holding a hearing on Blockchain tomorrow. The Research and Technology subcommittee and the Oversight subcommittee will be hosting experts in the blockchain and cybersecurity field, in an attempt to learn more about the benefits of blockchain. Cryptocurrency trading app, Circle is adding Monero to its list of coins it offers. Circle added Zcash last week, and now offers 7 coins for traders to buy or sell. Microsoft's Azure will have a Blockchain workbench added to its platform. This will allow companies to more easily build apps on Azure's blockchain.
