US Markets End of Day Snapshot
US equities ended higher today, with the S&P 500 (+0.97%), Russell 2000 (+0.61%), and Nasdaq Composite (+1.00%).
The S&P 500 was led higher today by Energy (+2.04%), Financials (+1.48%), and Materials (+1.44%), while Telecom (-0.78%), Utilities (-0.70%), and Consumer Staples (+0.14%) were the biggest lagging sectors.

21st Century Fox (FOXA) posted 1Q2018 EPS that was modestly below projections ($0.51 vs $0.53).
Apple Inc (AAPL) is reportedly considering selling video subscriptions through its TV application, as opposed to requiring users to subscribe through individual apps.
Booking Holdings (BKNG) reported 1Q2018 EPS that was significantly higher than expected ($12.00 vs $10.71 consensus).
Century Link (CTL) announced 1Q2018 EPS that was above consensus ($0.25 vs $0.19 projection).

Cryptocurrency Market Update
Major Cryptocurrencies mixed today, with Bitcoin (+1.17%), Ethereum (+0.49%), and Bitcoin Cash (+2.20%) all rising, while Ripple (-0.71%), EOS (-1.57%), and Litecoin (-0.75%). Other notable gainers were Verge (+3.23%), Monero (+2.87%), and NEM (+0.98%). Iota (-5.56%), Ethereum Classic (-3.08%), and Tron (-2.50%) were notable decliners.
- Chinese messaging app, WeChat, suspended a Tencent owned blockchain app within a day of the app being launched. The app reportedly violated WeChat’s rules
- Bloomberg and Galaxy Digital Capital Management has launched the Bloomberg Galaxy Crypto Index (BGCI). The index is market cap-weighted, and currently includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, EOS, and a few other coins
- Reddit Founder, Alexis Ohanian, remains extremely bullish on cryptocurrencies, and claimed that cryptos can “fuel a potential new internet” during his appearance on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night
- Coinone became the first South Korean cryptocurrency exchange to use Ripple’s blockchain network for cross-border payments on Monday
