US Market Snapshot

US Markets are mixed today, with the S&P 500 (-0.22%) an Nasdaq Composite (-0.22%) declining, while the Russell 2000 (+0.17%) is higher.

The S&P 500 is being led lower today by Consumer Staples (-0.82%), Financials (-0.71%), and Energy (-0.67%), while Industrials (+0.60%), Materials (+0.28%), and Health Care (+0.27%) are the biggest outperforming sectors.

Blackstone Group LP (BX) is selling 15.8 million shares of Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc (HLT), valued at $1.3 billion. Once Blackstone sells these shares, it will have completely exited its position in Hilton and will have realized a total profit of nearly $14 billion from the sale of the stock, tripling the initial investment made 11 years ago.

Campbell Soup’s (CPB) CEO Denise Morrison unexpectedly resigned from her position today after 7 years in the Chief Executive role. Shares of Campbell Soup are trading 10.71% lower today.
