US Markets End of Day Snapshot

US stocks ended higher today following the ECB’s decision to keep their interest rates unchanged. The S&P 500 +0.25%, Russell 2000 +0.49%, and the Nasdaq Composite +0.85% all ended higher. The S&P 500 was led higher today by Utilities (+1.22%), Consumer Discretionary (+1.04%), and Telecom (+1.03%), while Financials (-0.93%), Industrials (-0.38%), and Energy (-0.22%) were the biggest lagging sectors. The VIX fell 82 basis points, or -6.34%, to 12.12. The most actively traded options in US markets today were VIX June 20 ATM Puts, SPY June 15 ITM Calls, and SPY June 15 OTM Calls. The US 10-year yield fell today, down 4.2 basis points to 2.937%. The USD$ index is stronger today against all of the G10 currencies, gaining 1.79% against EUR€.

Adobe Systems Inc (ADBE) reported 2Q2018 EPS that was firmly above expectations ($1.66 vs $1.54 projected). Shares of Adobe Systems are down 2.56% to $251.50 post-market.

Apple Inc (AAPL) is reportedly close to making a deal for the rights to an animated movie. The movie has not yet been made and is more than a year and a half away from release, but Apple has inquired about the about purchasing distribution rights from Ireland-based animation studio, Cartoon Saloon.

Deutsche Bank (DB:DBK) has sold $1.2 billion worth of shipping loans to Varde Partners, as the struggling German bank continues to divest global assets and refocus on developing its domestic market penetration.

Jabil Inc (JBL) posted 3Q2018 EPS that was relatively in-line with forecasts ($0.46 vs $0.45 anticipated). Jabil Inc’s stock is up 2.60% to 30.43% after the close.

Waters Corp (WAT) finished 4.52% to $200.57 in today’s trading after the company was downgraded to underperform from a neutral rating at Cleveland Research.
