- Sweden’s land registry authority and a group of banks, and businesses had completed the third phase of a blockchain pilot called the Lantmateriet. The coalition contributed to creating a blockchain and have verified live transactions between the government – approving digital signatures on a legal contract. The project began last year, and the firms include: SBAB Bank, Landshypotek, ChromaWay, Kairos Future, Svensk Fastighetsformedling, Telai Sverige and Evry.
- A study released this week by the Zcash foundation and researchers from the University of Luxembourg show that ASIC and FPGA miners may be controlling up to 30% of the overall Equihash mining hashrate. Many cryptocurrencies have hoped that ASIC miners would be removed from mining on the blockchains yet cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin Gold, Monacoin and Verge have experienced double spend attacks on their blockchain. The Zcash foundation has noted that they have been researching ASIC resistance.
- Robinhood CEO spoke today and mentioned that he and his partner have been mining Bitcoin (BTC) since 2011. The partners brought cryptocurrency onto the Robinhood platform because of its resiliency. The firm added cryptocurrency trading in February and has said it will be adding more tokens and wallet functionality.
