US Market Snapshot
US stocks are mostly positive today, reversing from yesterday’s losses, as Sino-American trade concerns begin to ebb, with the S&P 500 +0.24%, the Nasdaq Composite +0.11%, the Russell 2000 +0.27%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average -0.03%. The S&P 500 is being led higher by real estate (+0.89%), information technology (+0.67%), and consumer discretionary stocks (+0.49%) while telecommunications (-0.91%), materials (-0.37%), and consumer staples stocks (+0.03%) underperform. The VIX is down 65 basis points to 12.70. The yield on the US 10-year is up 1.8 basis points to 2.915%. The most actively traded options today are EEM December 21 ATM Puts, SPY July 2 OTM Calls, FXI July 20 OTM Calls. The USD$ index is lower today as strength in the GBP£ is being outweighed by weakness in the CAD$ and JPY¥.

European stocks finished largely higher, with the Euro Stoxx 600 +0.28%, the FTSE 100 +0.31%, the DAX +0.14%, while the CAC 40 declined 0.34%. Periphery markets were mixed with the IBEX +0.34%, and the FTSE MIB +0.16%, while the PSI 20 was down 0.19%, and the ASE fell 0.03%. Yield on the UK 10-year is up 1.6 basis points to 1.295%, while the yield on the Italian 10-year is 1.0 basis points lower to 2.536%.
