US stocks finished broadly lower, as Sino-American trade war tensions continue to roil US equity markets, with the S&P 500 -0.63%, the Dow Jones Industrial -0.80%, the Russell 2000 -1.06%, and the Nasdaq Composite -0.70%. Real estate (+0.62%), utilities (+0.33%), and consumer staples stocks (+0.07%) were the only stocks in the S&P 500 in positive territory. Energy (-1.93%), industrials (-1.19%), and materials stocks (-1.00%) were the most significant laggards. The VIX was up 184 basis points to 14.61. Yield on the US 10-year fell 4.2 basis points to 2.897%. The most actively traded options today were EEM June 29 OTM Puts, SPY September 21 OTM Puts, AAPL July 20 ATM Calls and Puts, and QQQ June 29 OTM Puts. USD$ is down 0.29%, due to strength in the GBP£, the EUR€, and the JPY¥.
