How Did European Stocks Close?

European stocks ended significantly lower today, as concerns over a global trade war pressured stocks. The Euro Stoxx 600 -2.07%, the FTSE 100 -2.26%, the DAX -2.46%, and the CAC40 -1.92% all ended lower. Periphery markets were mostly lower, with Italy’s MIB -2.44%, Spain’s IBEX -1.78%, and Portugal’s PSI 20 -0.84% falling, while Greece’s ASE rose +0.77%. The VSTOXX finished 25.81% higher to 17.87. Yield on the UK 10-year bond is down 3.0 basis points to 1.291%, while the yield on Italy’s 10-year is up 12.2 basis points to 2.821%.
