US Markets End of Day Snapshot

US stocks ended higher today, recovering slightly from yesterday’s losses, with the S&P 500 +0.22%, the Russell 2000 +0.66%, and the Nasdaq Composite +0.39%. The S&P 500 was led higher today by Energy (+1.26%), Telecom (+1.26%), and Consumer Discretionary (+0.72%), while Consumer Staples (-0.42%), Health Care (-0.31%), and Financials (-0.30%) were the biggest lagging sectors. The VIX fell 141 basis points or 8.41% to 15.92. The US 10-year yield was little changed, up 0.4 basis points to 2.879%. The most actively traded options today were BAC June 18 OTM Calls, UUP August 17 ATM Puts, and XLF July 20 OTM Calls. The DXY index is up 0.38% today and was stronger against every G10 currency.
