After being mostly positive earlier in today’s trading, US stocks finished broadly lower with the S&P 500 -0.86%, the Nasdaq Composite -1.54%, the Russell 2000 -1.68%, and the Dow Jones Industrial -0.68% Information technology (-1.45%), consumer discretionary (-1.29%), and financials stocks (-1.26%) weighed the S&P 500 down, while energy (+1.34%), utilities (+0.58%), and telecommunications stocks (+0.04%) were the biggest outperformers. The VIX finished higher by 184 basis points, or 11.56%, to 17.80. Yield on the US 10-year fell 5.1 basis points to 2.826%. The USD$ index was stronger today, with the EUR€ (-0.76%), GBP£ (-0.82%), CAD$ (-0.37%), and AUD$ (-0.73%) all weaker against the greenback. The most actively traded options today were SPY June 29 OTM Calls, VXX July 20 OTM Calls, QQQ June 29 OTM Calls, and EEM September 21 OTM Calls.
