How Did European Stocks Close?

European stocks ended lower today as a political crisis develops in Germany. Major European indices were all lower, with the Euro Stoxx 600 -0.84%, the FTSE 100 -1.17%, the DAX -0.55%, and the CAC40 -0.88%. Periphery markets fell as well, with Italy’s MIB -0.92%, Spain’s IBEX -0.67%, Portugal’s PSI 20 -0.73%, and Greece’s ASE -1.24%. The VSTOXX ended up 136 basis points, or +8.19%, to 18.00. Yield on the UK 10 year fell 2.6 basis points to 1.254%, while the yield on the Italian 10-year fell 3.4 basis points to 2.645%.
