US stocks ended the shortened session mixed today, with the S&P 500 -0.49% and Nasdaq Composite -0.86% lower, while the Russell 2000 +0.32% ended higher. The S&P 500 was led lower today by Technology (-1.18%), Financials (-0.90%), and Consumer Discretionary (-0.50%), while Energy (+0.63%), Real Estate (+0.58%), and Telecom (+0.58%) were the biggest outperforming sectors. The VIX rose 54 basis points, or 3.46%, to 16.14. Yield on the US 10-year fell 3.6 basis points to 2.829%. The most actively traded options today were SPY July 20 ITM Puts and AABA July 20 and August 17 OTM Calls and ITM Puts. The US Dollar Index (DXY) finished down 0.26%, and USD$ was weaker against all of the G10 currencies.
