US stocks advanced broadly today, with the S&P 500 +0.35%, the Russell 2000 -0.53%, and the Nasdaq Composite +0.04%. The S&P 500 was led higher by consumer staples (+1.19%), utilities (+0.95%), and materials (+0.81%), while financials (-0.33%) was the only sector in the red. The VIX finished down 5 basis points, or -0.39%, to 12.64. The yield on the US 10-year is down 0.7 basis points to 2.849%. The most active options today are: XRT July 27 ITM Puts, SPY July 20 OTM Calls, and VIX July 18 ITM Puts. The DXY dollar index is relatively unchanged against G10 currencies, with EUR€ -0.032% to EUR€0.8519/USD$, GBP£ +0.131% to GBP£0.7532/USD$, JPY¥ -0.385% to JPY¥110.97, and AUD$ +0.057% to AUD$1.3436/USD$.
