US stocks were in the red today, with the S&P 500 -0.71%, the Russell 2000 -0.71%, and the Nasdaq Composite -0.55%. The S&P 500 was led lower today by energy (-2.12%), materials (-1.68%), and industrials (-1.61%), while utilities (+0.90%), consumer discretionary (-0.23%), and real estate (-0.30%) were the biggest outperforming sectors. The VIX finished up +7.83%, to 13.63. The yield on the US 10-year fell 1.7 basis points to 2.840%. The most active options today are: RIG July 18 OTM Puts, SPY July 13 OTM Puts, and SPY July 11 ITM Put. The DXY dollar index finished higher against G10 currencies, with EUR€ -0.588% to EUR€0.8565/USD$, GBP£ -0.534% to GBP£0.7572/USD$, JPY¥ -0.921% to JPY¥112.01, and AUD$ -1.234% to AUD$1.3572/USD$.
