European Stocks At the Close
European stocks finished mixed today, with the Euro Stoxx 600 -0.22%, FTSE 100 -0.83%, and CAC40 -0.29% all fell, while the DAX +0.27% was the only major index to rise. Periphery markets were mixed as well, with Italy’s MIB -0.32% and Spain’s IBEX -0.18% falling, while Portugal’s PSI 20 +0.02% and Greece’s ASE +0.50%. The VSTOXX ended 1.79% higher today, down to 13.03 after closing at 12.80. Yield on the Italian 10-year sovereign bond is up 1.5 basis points to 2.573%, while the yield on the German Bund is 1.9 basis points higher to 0.360%.
