US Market Snapshot


US stocks are higher today, reversing yesterday’s losses, with the S&P 500 +0.29%, Russell 2000 +0.42%, and the Nasdaq Composite +0.33%. The S&P 500 is being led higher today by Materials (+0.83%), Consumer Staples (+0.74%), and Telecom (+0.61%), while Energy (-0.29%), Real Estate (-0.21%), and Industrials (+0.14%) are the biggest lagging sectors. The VIX is down 63 basis points, or -4.91%, to 12.20. Yield on the US 10-year is little changed, down 0.4 basis points to 2.851%. The DXY USD$ index is up +0.35%, with significant strength in GBP£ (+0.46%), JPY¥ (+0.433%), and CAD$ (+0.12%). The most actively traded options today are SPY August 17 OTM Puts, BAC July 20 OTM Puts, and VIX OTM Calls.
