US Market Snapshot



US stocks are mostly higher today, with the S&P 500 +0.21% and Russell 2000 +0.42% higher, while the Nasdaq Composite -0.06% is falling. The S&P 500 is being led higher today by Financials (+1.76%), Industrials (+1.34%), and Materials (+0.36%), while Consumer Staples (-0.77%), Telecom (-0.63%), and Real Estate (-0.58%) are the biggest lagging sectors. The VIX is down 11 basis points, or 0.91%, to 11.96. Yield on the US 10-year is unchanged, trading at 2.863%. The DXY USD$ index is little changed, up +0.01%, with strength in GBP£ (+0.46%) and EUR€ (+0.09%) offset by weakness in AUD$ (-0.13%), CHF (-0.10%), and JPY¥ (+0.09%). The most actively traded options today are HYG August 17 OTM Calls and ITM Puts, XLF July 20 ITM Calls, and VIX August 22 ATM Puts.
