US Markets End of Day Snapshot



US stocks ended mostly higher today, with the S&P 500 +0.22% and Russell 2000 +0.27% ending higher, while the Nasdaq Composite -0.01% fell. The S&P 500 was led higher today by Financials (+1.60%), Industrials (+1.10%), and Health Care (+0.08%), while Telecom (-1.00%), Consumer Staples (-0.74%), and Utilities (-0.51%) were the biggest lagging sectors. The VIX ended up 4 basis points, or +0.33%, to 12.10. Yield on the US 10-year rose today, up 1.0 basis points to 2.874%. The DXY USD$ index is up +0.13%, with strength in GBP£ (+0.35%) and EUR€ (+0.18%) offset by weakness in AUD$ (-0.14%) and CAD$ (-0.13%). The most actively traded options today are XLF September 21 OTM Calls, SPY July 18 ATM Calls, and HYG August 17 OTM Calls.
