US stocks are mostly higher, with the S&P 500 +0.82%, the Nasdaq Composite +0.04%, the Dow Jones Industrial +0.83%, while the Russell 2000 is -0.86%. Energy (+1.55%), materials (+1.49%), and telecommunication stocks (+1.10%) are the biggest outperformers in the S&P 500, while utilities (-0.36%), real estate (-0.28%), and consumer discretionary stocks were the most significant underperformers. The VIX is down 1.82% to 12.39. Yield on the US 10-year is up 0.4 basis points to 2.958%. The DXY USD$ index is relatively flat today. The most actively traded options today are EEM September 21 Calls, HYG August 17 Puts, XSP September 21 Puts, VIX August 22 Puts, and SPY July 27 Calls.
